Deacon and Deaconess Ministry
The Deacon Ministry was established under the pastor ship of Rev. I. D. Tyson in 1928, with Deacon Jack Carter as the first Chairman of the Deacon Ministry. He is credited with having the original idea about establishing First Calvary Baptist Church. He played an instrumental part in organizing and conducting the business of the church. The land was purchased from him for $5.00 to build the church. Mrs. Inez Simmons and Mrs. Gracie Scott, daughters of Deacon Carter still attend First Calvary.

Deacon Ernest Jackson, Sr. was ordained in August 1970 under the pastorate of Rev. E. J. Junior. He has served as the past Chairman of the Deacon Ministry and Sunday School Teacher, and Church Treasurer. Deacon Jackson is a faithful member of First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
